Steam guides / Friends
Who really played more?
There are two ways to see a friend’s hours: on their Steam profile, or side by side with yours. Both depend on what your friend shares.
On Steam
Open your friend’s profile in Steam, then select Games. If their Game details are visible to you, each game shows their total hours and when they last played. Opening one of your own games also shows which friends play it.
If you see no hours, your friend has set Game details to Private, or to Friends Only while you are not friends, or chose to keep their total playtime private.
Side by side on Steam Playtime
Enter both profiles below to see the games you share, each player’s hours and the difference. Both profiles and their Game details must be public; Steam Playtime cannot see Friends Only details. Comparison results are not indexed by search engines.
Why is a game missing from the comparison?
Comparisons use each player’s 300 most-played games with more than one hour. A missing row can mean the game is unplayed, under an hour, or outside that list, so it does not prove your friend doesn’t own it.Learn more about comparisons.
